Bava Metzia 95: Sources and Reasons Regarding Liability Rules

Some very brief notes about today's daf:

  • the rabbis argue about the source behind the recent teaching that a borrower is liable for theft of loss of a borrowed item
  • the rabbis argue about the source behind the teaching about negligence with the owner in the case of a damaged item in another person's care
  • the rabbis argue about the definition of yesterday's teaching about liability when 'the owner is with him'
  • the rabbis argue about whether or not a person is liable in specific cases, like when a woman damages an item that she is caring for in her husband's presence
